Russian for Pre-Intermediate Students (exam)

VYR050 course is not part of any programme in the faculty
Subjects VYR001, VYR002, VYR003 and VYR004 are offered to students to gain the required knowledge and skills. Students need to know the contents of new Raduga 1-3 books. The exam is divided into 2 parts. The written part tests the knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, then the reading, listening and writing skills; the speaking part of the exam examines the ability to talk shortly on the topics discussed in the above mentioned subjects and to answer the questions. The exam lasts 2 hours.

Entry Knowledge
In order to be prepared for the exam, students should master grammar and vocabulary of new Raduga 1-3 books. Their language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) should be on the pre-intermediate level.
Grammar: numerals, conjugation of verbs, reflexive verbs, infinitive, inflection of nouns, adjectives and pronouns, inanimate and animate nouns, indeclinable nouns, prepositional phrases, date, past tense, using "vy" when addressing a person, substantivized adjectives, proximity
Vocabulary: introducing, phoning, nationalities, on a visit, family, jobs, free time, hobbies, school, orientation in the city, means of transport, shopping, Moscow and Petersburg, Prague, meeting friends, appearance, human body, clothes, character, seasons, weather

Aims
This exam is at A2+ level according to CEFR (Common European Frame of Reference). It is tested if students have knowledge of basic level Russian wordstock, basic grammatical rules and if they are able to communicate in basic everyday situations.
The aim of this exam is for students to show that their level of knowledge of Russian is such that they are able, both in a spoken and written way, to use basic vocabulary and grammar in basic everyday situations. The level of knowledge should be A2+ according to CEFR (Common European Frame of Reference).
