Entry Knowledge
Students should have a good command of the Russian alphabet, vocabulary, and conversation on the following topics: introductions, phone conversations, nationalities, visiting someone, family, occupations, leisure time, hobbies, and school.
They should also master the following grammar topics: numerals, verb conjugation, reflexive verbs, declension of nouns and pronouns, dates, past tense, and formal address.
Aims
The aim of the course is to achieve a pre-intermediate level in Russian vocabulary and grammar, as well as the student’s ability to read, translate, and produce moderately complex Russian texts. The student will meet the course objectives if they reach a pre-intermediate level in Russian vocabulary and grammar and are able to read, translate, and create moderately complex Russian texts.

- 2. L2-revision of topic School, Classes - reading and listening of texts, new vocabulary, school subjects
- 3. L2-Classes, timetable, dialogues, inflexion of pronouns (who, what), prepositional phrases (after)
- 4. L2-Classes, types of school, inflexion of nouns (masculine, feminine gender, singular number), revision of grammar and vocabulary, additional text, role play
- 5. L3-Orientation in a city, dialogues, underground in Moscow, conjugation of verbs "go/drive, can"
- 6. L3-Means of transport, infinitive clauses, revision of grammar and vocabulary, additional text, role play
- 7. L4-Shopping, dialogues, exercises, conjugation of verbs "buy, ask, take", 1st and 2nd case of some plural nouns
- 8. L4-Shopping, clothes, flowers, food, flexible "-o-, -e-" in nouns, 4th case of inanimate and animate plural nouns, revision
- 9. L5-Moscow - sights, texts, exercises, inflexion of nouns (neuter gender, singular number)
- 10. L5-Petersburg - sights, texts, exercises, indeclinable nouns, prepositional phrases (after) - summary
- 11. L6-Prague - sights, dialogues, 1st and 2nd case of plural nouns (feminine, neuter gender)
