This course is intended to improve language skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in English at a pre-intermediate level. Students will acquire and practise the grammar and vocabulary needed to pass the BYA001 exam.

Grammar: adjectives; infinitive + to; gerunds; modal verbs have to, don’t have to, must; modifiers; should; conditional sentences; present perfect + for/since; passive voice; used to; modal verb might; noun formation; questions without auxiliary verbs

Vocabulary: verb forms; phrases with get; animals; phobias; biographies; studying; sports; phrasal verbs

Entry Knowledge

The entry level should be at least A2 according to the CEFR. Students are expected to have knowledge of general vocabulary and grammar at this level and to be able to handle simple communication in everyday situations. 

Aims

The course VYA007 (English for Pre-Intermediate Students 2) is the second preparatory course for the BYA001 exam. It focuses on revising grammar and everyday vocabulary at the B1- level according to the CEFR. In addition, students at this level further develop their language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
