Students in within lectures are introduced to the terminology and an initial information about structures and their parts.
This course is a prerequisite for the successful continuation of thematically related courses of Civil Engineering in the second and third year of the bachelor's degree.

Entry Knowledge

In the course student obtains basic the knowledge and an overview of the building construction. It is assumed that the student does not have in that regard any knowledge.

Aims

Students introduction into problematic of building construction, namely from plan, project documentation, to own carrying out.
Acquaint with basic condition of construction, terminology of structure and basic construction principles.
Summary and profundity of education subject is volumetric and content conceived from lessons in amount of semester instruction.


Student copes aim subject adoption basic technology and
knowledge base obtained by applid, inclusive completive elements terrestrial constructions at illumination legislative frames and types building documentation in the process of build - up.

1. Types of structures (residential, industrial, agricultural and special structures). Functions of the building and its internal and environment - typology.
2. Basic terminology, the structure of the buildings.
3. Design requirements for the supporting system construction, stability and stiffness of the structure, principles for design of building structures.
4. The founation structure. The load in the footing bottom. Excavations.
5. Horizontal bearing constructions.
6. Bearing construction of roofing
7. Bearing construction of stairway
8. The principles of proportionality, the principle of modular coordination, implementation module in building construction, coordination dimensions.
9. The building envelope, finishes, windows, doors, roof systems and roofing.
10. Fire protection of buildings - basic concepts, fire resistance, fire protection arrangements.
11. Thermal protection of buildings and principles for saving energy - indoor thermal comfort, thermal properties of structures, energy efficiency.
12. The methodology of of the design process works. Legislation.
13. The modernization and reconstruction of buildings
