Students will write an English summary of their research connected with their doctoral thesis and they will present it using PowerPoint or a similar device. A professional discussion will follow.

Learning outcomes
Students will learn to write a summary of a presentation or a lecture in English. Students will learn present heir research in English. Students will prove that they know the English terminology connected with the field of their research. Students will prove that they can find the English translation of technical terminology using reliable sources. Students will be able to conduct a professional dialogue in English about their research.
Prerequisites
A command of general English higher than the level of CEFR, the DY02 course completed.
Corequisites
Students can learn how to write academic papers in BYA11 (VYA002) Academic writing. They can learn technical English in the BYA9 (VYA012) and BYA10 (VYA001) courses.
Planned educational activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations. Detailed instructions can be found in LMS Moodle and the completed tasks are handed in there, too.
Forms and criteria of assessment
Students will elaborate a written summary of his/her research and they will be able to present their research using PowerPoint or a similar device. Students will be able to conduct a professional dialogue in English about their research.

Syllabus of lectures
Students will register for the exam with their tutors of DY02. They will submit a written summary of their research. Doctoral students will arrange the date of the exam with their tutors individually. The exam is oral and consists of a presentation followed by a discussion.
