The methods of physical-mechanical properties and durability testing with a focus on destructive methods will be solved. Practical laboratory tests of properties of selected building materials with individual assignments for individual students will be carried out, including the processing of protocols on the above mentioned tests.

- 1. Introduction, properties of building materials and environmental properties of building materials.
- 2. Building stone, aggregates, recycled aggregates.
- 3. Binders, mortars, plasters and bonding materials (cements, adhesives).
- 4. Concrete, special types of concrete and concrete products.
- 5. Ceramics, ceramic products.
- 6. Wood - Basic Features and Testing.
- 7. Wood - uses and products.
- 8. Steel and other metals.
- 9. Polymers, glass and their applications.
- 10. Alternative building materials - types, usability.
- 11. Materials for insulation (waterproofing, thermal insulation and radon insulation).
- 12. Materials for floor coverings.
- 13. Final summary.
