Computer support of numerical methods

VAC002 course is not part of any study plan

MATLAB environment, fundamentals of programming language. Applications: numerical analysis of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations and their systems, interpolation and approximation of real functions, least squares method, effective solution of differential equations using finite difference and finite element methods.

Learning outcomes

Application of software MATLAB to the analysis of problems of numerical mathematics, as a facultative upgrade of courses CA01, CA02, CA04 and CA06.

Prerequisites

Basic courses of mathematics for Bc. degree BA06, BA07, BA02, BA04. Simultaneous study of some of the following courses: CA01, CA02, CA04, CA06.

Planned educational activities and teaching methods

The course is taught through practical classes and self-study assignments. Attendance at practical classes is compulsory.

Forms and criteria of assessment

The following items are obligatory: attendind exercises, MATLAB-supported solution individual examples, successful results of all tests.

Objective

Application of software MATLAB to the analysis of problems of numerical mathematics. Facultative upgrade of courses CA01, CA02, CA04 and CA06. At least 10 students required.
