Objective

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of railway junctions, passenger and goods traffic in them and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.

1. Shunting yards, functions, position in railway network. Development of sorting technology.
2. Set of reception sidings. Set of sorting sidings. Set of departure sidings, tracks for thoroughgoing trains.
3. Hump, technical equipment.Sets of tracks design, longitudinal section of hump track, dynamic estimation.

1. Specifying of the project, guidelines to draw up. 2. Design of hump height. 3. Design of turnout assembly, sets of tracks. 4. Design of longitudinal profile. 5. Dynamic evaluation of hump. 6. Format and content of drawings – Setting out drawing, longitudinal profile. 7. Consultation on the project. 8. Submitting of the projects, credit.
