Basic transport regulations, train diagram, train schedule of railway stations. Time diagram of station operation, track occupation diagram, operating efficiency, making up of trains
Design of railway stops, goods points and operation control points, design elements of railway stations, geometry parameters of trackage. Operating control points and open track, basic terms. Tracks in railway stations, tracks numeration, symbols of tracks, track length, distances of track centre lines.
Track alignment design parameters in control operation points and other operation points.
Railway superstructure, substructure and its drainage in railway stations
Railway stops, passing sidings, branching points, junctions.
Railway stations – general principles, division of railway stations according to a position in railway network and according to operation character. Railhead stations, intermediate, connection, junction stations, railway junctions, transit and exchange railway stations, transhipment stations.
Platforms, ramps, pedestrian subways and footbridges.

Objective

The objective of the subject is to introduce students to the problems of design of railway stops, goods points and operation control points, especially railway stations and to practise acquires knowledge and skills.

1. Basic transport regulations, train diagram, train schedule of railway stations.
2. Time diagram of station operation, track occupation diagram, operating efficiency, making up of trains.
3. Design of railway stops, goods points and operation control points, design elements of railway stations, geometry parameters of trackage. Operating control points and open track, basic terms.
4. Tracks in railway stations, tracks numeration, symbols of tracks, track length, distances of track centre lines.
5. Track alignment design parameters in control operation points and other operation points.
