Studying and gaining up-to-date knowledge from selected problems of the water management and water structures with the support of the supervisor and other supervisors from other departments of the faculty, university and scientific and research institutes.
Definition of simulation and experimental parts of PhD thesis.
Publications and presentations of creative activities outcomes.
Schedule setup of specific events (seminars, conferences, congresses) together with professional study on foreign research and academic institutes.
For creative activities the collaboration with practice during the work on the project is convenient.

Objective

PhD student under the guidance of his supervisor gains additional theoretical and special knowledge of the selected problems of hydrotechnical structures, landscape water management and urban water infrastructure in the study field of Water Management and Water Structures. Thus the conditions for his individual theoretical, creative and scientific work are set up, serving as a background for his PhD thesis.

Syllabus

1.–13. The student seeks and studies the specialised background materials with which familiarity is necessary before producing theoretical, practical and scientific outputs in the studied topic area. Definition of the scientific contribution of the doctoral student with regard to the given issue. Production of the supporting materials required for the submission of a project proposal (it is recommended that this be carried out in cooperation with a doctoral student from the 2nd year of the DSP with a related doctoral thesis topic).
