The Impact of the European EPBD IV Directive on the Energy Performance of Buildings in the Czech Republic. Methods of building energy assessment, legislative requirements. The use of energy performance certificates, energy assessments, and energy audits to reduce the energy consumption and carbon footprint of buildings. Practical examples in the preparation of energy performance certificates.
Basic renewable energy systems, principles and classification, description of individual technologies utilizing renewable energy sources (sun, wind, water, waste heat, and others). Possibilities for utilizing individual renewable energy sources in buildings in the Czech Republic in connection with reducing energy performance and CO2 emissions.

Aims

Professional knowledge

The student carries out an analysis of the current condition of a building in terms of energy flows and the thermal properties of the building envelope, taking into account the standardised use of the building. Analysis of a renewable energy system.

Professional skills

The student compiles an energy balance to calculate the building’s energy performance certificate using renewable energy sources.

Professional Competence

The student gains an understanding of building energy performance certificates and renewable energy systems.
