N-P-C-SI (N) / R Summer Semester 1st year
Concrete as a construction material, primary and secondary transport of fresh concrete, formwork for concrete and reinforced concrete structures, reinforcement and concreting, principles of the assembly of buildings fabricated from reinforced elements, reconstruction and rehabilitation of concrete structures, quality inspections.
Course Guarantor
Institute
Objective
To make the students acquainted with technology of concrete, reinforced concrete structures and application of reinforced concrete elements in the assembled structures, their reconstructions and reinstating.
Knowledge
The students will master the objective of the course of Realization and Reconstruction of Reinforced Concrete Structures, i.e. they become acquainted with the technology of concrete, erection of reinforced concrete structures and application of reinforced concrete elements in built-up structures. He gets also knowledge of reconstruction of concrete structure.
Syllabus
1. Terminology, production and handling procedures, characteristic features of fresh concrete.
2. Formwork, technical procedures.
3. Reinforcement, pouring of concrete mixture into formwork, compacting.
4. Massive structures, concreting under special conditions, quality control.
5. Assembled structures, assembly procedures, fixation, quality control.
6. Methods of rehabilitating and reconstructing concrete structures, diagnostics.
7. Surface types of concrete structures and methods of rehabilitating them.
8. Structural rehabilitation.
2. Formwork, technical procedures.
3. Reinforcement, pouring of concrete mixture into formwork, compacting.
4. Massive structures, concreting under special conditions, quality control.
5. Assembled structures, assembly procedures, fixation, quality control.
6. Methods of rehabilitating and reconstructing concrete structures, diagnostics.

Syllabus
1. Introduction to the programme of the practical lessons, conditions and requirements for the credit, individual assignment of a monolithic structure that will be dealt with during practical lessons throughout the semester.
2. Assignment, contents and structure of technical guidelines for an assigned monolithic structure – the main output from the practical lessons, produced and discussed throughout the semester, complemented by supplementary work produced in the following practical lessons.
3. Calculation of concrete curing time after formwork removal, time schedule, inspection and test plan – all for the assigned monolithic structure as part of the technical guidelines.
4. Formwork design for the assigned structure produced manually or using available software – ground plan, characteristic sections, details, lists of elements.
5. Engineering economics study aimed at determining the most economical option from the aspect of concrete, salary and formwork costs.
6. Individual assignment of an example of the rehabilitation of a reinforced concrete structure – e.g. reinforcement of a beam, a design proposal, calculations.
7. Evaluation and checking of assigned tasks from practical lesson 6.
8. Evaluation of assigned tasks, defence of proposed solutions.
