Vice Dean for Graduate Bachelor and Master Studies and English Courses roles and responsibilities:

  • accreditation of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes, responsibility for their implementation,
  • accreditation of Doctoral study programmes taught in English, responsibility for their implementation,
  • Doctoral study programmes taught in English,
  • coordinated development of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in relation to the creation of the European Higher Education Area,
  • coordinating the educational activities of the Faculty and the strategy of development of Faculty's study programmes, together with the Vice-Dean for Graduate Doctoral Studies and Internal Relations,
  • admissions to Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes,
  • admission to Doctoral study programmes in English,
  • matriculation and instruction of first-year students in Bachelor degree programmes,
  • Bachelor's and Master's studies in full-time and combined form,
  • students of Bachelor's and Master's study programmes taught in Czech,
  • students in study programmes taught in English,
  • study affairs of applicants, students and staff in relation to study matters in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes,
  • final state exams in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes,
  • coordination of the activities of study programme guarantors in the field of study and student affairs,
  • recognition of studies completed at other faculties of the BUT and other universities, recognition of lifelong learning studies and other student mobility studies,
  • lifelong learning in accredited study programmes - Bachelor and Master study programmes,
  • creation of organisational conditions for sending students and accepting students from other universities to study in study programmes,
  • support for top students in Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes,
  • inter-faculty or inter-university Bachelor's and Master's studies,
  • timetables, review of teaching,
  • scholarships for students of Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes,
  • accommodation and catering services for students,
  • promotion of education and public relations, in cooperation with the Vice Dean for Graduate Doctoral Studies and Internal Relations and the Vice Dean for External Relations, Internationalisation and Marketing,
  • provision of information for mobility and presentation, especially abroad to create interest in and knowledge about BUT and to develop mobility, in cooperation with the Vice-Dean for External Relations, Internationalisation and Marketing,
  • submission, implementation and evaluation of faculty projects within the development and other programmes of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for Bachelor's and Master's studies,
  • coordination of preparation, submission of faculty projects within the European projects Johannes Amos Comenius Programme, NPO, etc. for the field of Bachelor's and Master's studies,
  • creating organisational conditions for sending and accepting students from other universities to study in the study programmes,
  • Degree Programmes Board, Disciplinary Committee, Scholarship Committee, Editorial Committee,
  • professional management of the Study and Research Affairs Department, in cooperation with the Vice-Dean for Graduate Doctoral Studies and Internal Relations.

All vice-deans, in cooperation with the management of Brno University of Technology, the dean, the secretary and the responsible faculty staff, ensure the following areas in particular:

  • compliance with legal norms related to universities, in particular: zákon č. 111/1998 Sb. o vysokých školách a o změně a doplnění dalších zákonů (zákon o vysokých školách), as amended; zákon č. 130/2002 Sb., o podpoře výzkumu a vývoje z veřejných prostředků a o změně některých souvisejících zákonů (zákon o podpoře výzkumu a vývoje), as amended; relevant government regulations and resolutions and internal regulations and standards of the BUT and the Faculty, as amended,
  • assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the Faculty's internal regulations and standards, preparing and submitting proposals for their modification,
  • fulfilling the strategic plan of the BUT and the Faculty within the scope of his functional competence, preparing proposals for their update,
  • implementation of decisions, directives and instructions of the Dean (and their control within the functional competence),
  • active participation in the Dean's advisory bodies,
  • creating and managing of advisory boards within his functional competence,
  • organisational and content provision of relevant academic ceremonies,
  • creating supporting materials for faculty presentations in relation to his functional competence,
  • dealing with issues relating to the AdMaS Centre within his functional competence.
