You'll get immediate feedback with specific tips on what to improve and how to move forward.

Scientific publishing from A to Z

This course is aimed at helping PhD students to navigate the environment of scientific thinking and publishing. Its great advantage is the opportunity to practice writing a scientific text in English and to get feedback on the text produced. After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the basic sources of scientific information, will be able to cite correctly the literature used, find the appropriate journal for his/her publishing activity, including in relation to the evaluation of science in the Czech Republic. He/she will gain practical experience in the production of a scientific text. He/she will learn about the publishing process and the benefits of foreign cooperation and trips.

Teaching is in the form of blended learning through e-learning support Moodle (where study materials are placed) regular assignments with feedback and six seminars, or individual consultations. The seminars will take place once every 14 days on Tuesdays 10 - 11:30 am. The date of the first seminar is 20 February 2024.

The course will be held in Czech, but in case of interest of international students, individual consultations in English can be arranged.

    Research data management

The course focuses on the safe management of research data as one of the necessary skills in academia and beyond. Graduates of the course should be familiar with open science, gaining an overview of searching, reusing and citing research data. A supporting theme of the course is the establishment of good practices in the collection, description, processing, storage and archiving of research data. All this while adhering to FAIR data principles, legal and ethical rules and project conditions.
