Ceremonial handover of the M.zone coworking space to students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering BUT

The content is archived. Information may be outdated or misleading.

The Metrostav Group has handed over to the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the BUT (FCE BUT) a multipurpose space for teamwork of M.zone students. Everything is wheelchair accessible from the ground floor of Building C. The entire space was renovated and equipped by Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. from the Metrostav Group at a cost of CZK 1.3 million. It was handed over to the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the BUT today in the form of an in-kind donation for use.

The Faculty is thus trying to support the future employment of its students already during their studies. It is also creating rest areas and spaces for informal meetings of students. "Such a space for working meetings of student teams was missing at our faculty. While we do have relaxation zones for students, these are for students to relax, not for teamwork. The M.zone at FCE BUT is a great way to develop teamwork in an informal way, future civil engineers will gain communication and management skills that will make it easier for them to get a realistic start in the workplace once they start working. I would like to thank Metrostav Group for this unique project" said Dean Rostislav Drochytka.

"Metrostav Group has always paid special attention to supporting students of construction faculties. We are glad that with this material donation associated with the creation of a unique student space m.zone we can contribute to the professional and team preparation of our younger colleagues for the needs of practice" added Karel Volf, CEO of Metrostav DIZ.

However, the cooperation between Metrostav Group and the faculty does not end with the event itself. Metrostav Group has been a long-standing main partner of FCE BUT within the Faculty's Partnership Programme. Thanks to this space, FCE BUT students will also be able to meet representatives of the professional community and develop their professional competence beyond the classroom during their studies. "We are trying to make our students as familiar as possible with the practical side of the construction industry so that they know exactly what to expect before they start work," concluded Rostislav Drochytka, Dean of FCE BUT.
