Syllabus

1. Introduction to hydroinformatics, structure of hydroinformation systems. 2. Input data used in water management - overview of information sources incl. map servers. 3. Basic input data processing techniques and their use in specialized software tools (GIS, CAD). 4. Possibilities of using simulation models in water management - rainfall-flow models (eg: Hydrog, HEC-HMS, etc.). 5. Possibilities of use of simulation models in water management - modeling of water flow in pipelines, open channels and objects (eg: MIKE11, HEC-RAS, MIKE URBAN, MOUSE, SMS, FLOW 3D, COMSOL Multiphysics etc.). 6. Possibilities of utilization of simulation models in water management - modeling of groundwater flow (GMS-MODFLOW, Hydrus). 7. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - preparation of data for creation of digital terrain model (point fields, edges), creation and editing of digital terrain model. 8. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - creation of longitudinal and transverse profiles. 9. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - design of the route, level and cross sectional pattern. 10. Fundamentals of design of water structures in CAD - analysis of digital terrain model, calculations of cubatures. 11. Principles of water management project documentation of water supply and sewerage systems using CAD in accordance with the standards ČSN 013463, ČSN 01 3462. 12. Principles of water management project documentation of hydrotechnical and hydro-energetic constructions using CAD in accordance with ČSN 013469. Evaluation of individual assignments, credit.
