Entry Knowledge

Mathematics, structural mechanics, elasticity, design of elements of steel structures, design of elements of timber structures, actions on structures.

Aims

The objective of this subject is obtaining more detail knowledge in problem of design of metal and timber structures and to practise acquires knowledge and skills. The course is drawn up as the subsidiary to elaboration of diploma project.
A student work out the individual diploma project, since he obtains more detail knowledge in problem of design of metal or timber structures.

Syllabus

  • 1. Documentation of constructions: a technical report, a static design, a material report, a drawing part. Composition of loads and loading schemes. Basic details of structures.
  • 2. Standards for design of steel and timber structures.
  • 3. Modern steel and timber structures of buildings, structural details.
  • 4. Presentation of a site drawings of a specific building in field of steel and timber structures: drawing documentations, material reports.
  • 5. Specification of basic details of an individual project. Anchoring of steel and timber structures. Discussion about anchoring design and anchoring details.
  • 6. Discussion about a disposition solution.
  • 7. Discussion about the individual project.
  • 8.–10. Completion of the individual project.
