Studying and gaining up-to-date knowledge from selected problems of the water management and water structures with the support of the supervisor and other supervisors from other departments of the faculty, university and scientific and research institutes. Definition of simulation and experimental parts of PhD thesis. Publications and presentations of creative activities outcomes. Schedule setup of specific events (seminars, conferences, congresses) together with professional study on foreign research and academic institutes. For creative activities the collaboration with practice during the work on the project is convenient.
Knowledge at the level of a graduate student of Water Management and Water Structures study program or similar study program. according to the PhD thesis orientation. Practice is an advantage.
Planned educational activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
PhD student under the guidance of his supervisor gains additional theoretical and special knowledge of the selected problems of hydrotechnical structures, landscape water management and urban water infrastructure in the study field of Water Management and Water Structures. Thus the conditions for his individual theoretical, creative and scientific work are set up, serving as a background for his PhD thesis.

Syllabus of lectures
1. – 13. week: Searching and study of professional resources, theoretical, practical and scientific outcomes for current subject. Definition of the scientific contribution in solved problems, data processing for research design submission (recommended in cooperation with the second year postgraduate student with similar subject).
