Obtaining, studying and elaborating current knowledge of the problematics of selected theme of the specialization of study programme Structural and Transport Engineering, supported by the supervisor and supervisors - specialists from other professional and scientific workplaces of the faculty (e.g. faculty research centre AdMaS), university, and extracurricular scientific and research workplaces. Defining simulation or experimental parts in the field of the theme of dissertation thesis. Publication and presentation of the outputs of the scientific, research and development activities - elaboration of the papers in conference proceedings and professional and scientific journals. Preparation of the semester plan of the participation in professional events (seminars, conferences, congresses) and study or professional stays at forign scientific and academic workplaces. Co-operation with the practice directly within the frame of the projects solution.

Objective
During the doctoral seminar, doctoral candidate acquires further theoretical and professional knowledge under supervision based on selected areas of Constructions and Traffic Structures especially Z1: Mechanics of load bearing structures, Z2: Concrete and masonry structures, Z3: Steel, timber and composite structures, Z4: Geotechnics, Z5: Experimental engineering and building testing, Z6: Road structures, Z7: Railway structures and constructions, related to his/her dissertation. Thereby, the prerequisites for his/her independent theoretical and creative scientific training are formed, which serves as a base for his/her dissertation thesis processing.
Prerequisites
Knowledge at the level of a graduate student of the study programme Structural and Transport Engineering. Practice is an advantage.
