Research and acquiring contemporary knowledge from chosen area of Constructions and Traffic Structures with supervisor’s support and help of tutors from another professional and scientific departments and extracurricular research institutes. Definition of theoretical or experimental parts in his/her dissertation subject area. Publication and presentation of student’s creative activity outputs. Arrangement of the semester plan of seminars, conferences and congresses attendance and study or professional stays at foreign scientific and academic institutes. Advantage of cooperation with professional practice during the project solution.

Objective

During the doctoral seminar, doctoral candidate acquires further theoretical and professional knowledge under supervision based on selected areas of Constructions and Traffic Structures especially Z1: Mechanics of load bearing structures, Z2: Concrete and masonry structures, Z3: Steel, timber and composite structures, Z4: Geotechnics, Z5: Experimental engineering and building testing, Z6: Road structures, Z7: Railway structures and constructions, related to his/her dissertation. Thereby, the prerequisites for his/her independent theoretical and creative scientific training are formed, which serves as a base for his/her dissertation thesis processing.

Syllabus

1. – 13. week: Searching and study of professional bases, theoretical, practical and scientific outcomes for current subject. Research design submission (recommendation in conjunction with the second year postgraduate student with similar subject). Publications. Implication in professional actions.

Prerequisites

Knowledge at the level of a graduate student of construction and traffic structures study programme. Practise is an advantage.
