Objective
Basic knowledge of river basin runoff control with the use of isolated reservoirs and water management systems, ability to determine basic functional vulumes of water in reservoirs, obtaining information necessary for construction of mathematical models of water flow through the water supply sytem and flood control system, ability to use adequate tools suitable for solving basic type of tasks.

Syllabus
1. Control of river basin runoff, basic terms.
2. Fundamental for water management solution of the reservoirs and systems.
3. Reservoirs, distribution, basic equation of the reservoirs, functional volumes.
4.–6. Water management solution of the supply function of the reservoir (water management balance, basic types of the tasks – numerical and graphical solution, losses).
7.–8. Water management solution of the protection function of the reservoir (retention volume controllable and uncontrollable and their combination, simulation of the reservoir behavior).
9. Reservoirs operation, manipulation order and dispatcher graph.
10. Reservoirs in natural environment, definition of water managenet system,, basic characteristics.
11. Water management systems, common procedure for solving basic types of the tasks, schematization.
12. The role of optimum control of the water supply systems and role of optimum development of water supply system, protection function of water management systems.
