Low Energy Houses

Academic Year 2023/24

AH052 course is part of 1 study plan

B-P-C-APS (N) / APS Winter Semester 4th year

In this course student obtains knowledge in designing of low-energy structures with utilization of passive components of solar systems. Student acquaints with utilization of active solar systems, e.g. renewables. On example of specific disposition does evaluation of family house or residential house and its adaptation onto low-energy house, with calculations of heat energy consumption in heating period, determination of energy savings, calculation of heating costs and rough calculation of economic data, it is return of investments needs for thermal insulation.

Objective

On specific task acquaints students with design methods and evaluation of the structure, which fulfil criteria for low-energy or passive house.

Knowledge

Student will design and evaluate the building, which fulfil criteria for low-energy or passive house. Including evaluation of critical details.

Syllabus

1.-4. Ground plans, vertical sections of structure. Elaboration of thermal specifications, including energy consumption.
5.-6. Elaboration of energy card of the structure.
7.-9. Design of thermal insulation of the structure (wall, roof, floor, windows)
10.-11. Calculation of energy consumption.
12.-13. Comparison of original and new state of the structure, economic comparison.
