Drainage system inside buildings, pipes and their sizing, rainwater drainage. House connections, protection against backflow, wastewater lifting plants and pre-treatment of wastewater. Water installations, pipe materials, protection against backflow, water service pipelines, potable hot water preparation including the use of renewable energy sources, sizing. Gas appliances, gas pipework for buildings, gas boiler houses, gas service lines.

Entry Knowledge

Knowledge of the subject technical equipment and construction technology. Basic knowledge of building construction and fluid flow. Knowledge of drawing drawings.

Aims

Professional knowledge

The student will expand their knowledge of drainage systems inside buildings, water installations, hot water preparation and gas supply equipment and will acquire basic knowledge of renewable energy sources, which they need to prepare their bachelor's thesis.

Professional skills

After completing the course, the student will be able to design standard solutions for drainage systems inside buildings, water installations including hot water preparation, placement of gas appliances and gas pipework for buildings. The student will have basic knowledge of renewable energy sources. The student will be able to use the acquired knowledge when designing technical building equipment.

Qualification

The student will expand their knowledge necessary to obtain Czech chamber of authorized engineers and technicians (ČKAIT) authorization at the level of an authorized technician for the field of Build Environmental Technology, specialization Sanitation installations.

Syllabus

  1. Technical solutions of drainage system inside building and house connection, materials for sanitary pipework.
  2. Protection against backflow from the sewer system, wastewater lifting plants.
  3. Drainage of rainwater, infiltration and regulation of its outflow.
  4. Sizing of drainage system inside building, pre-treatment of wastewater, testing of drainage system inside building.
  5. Technical solutions for water installation and water service pipeline and firefighting pipes.
  6. Materials for water installations, thermal insulation of pipes, protection against backflow.
  7. Design and sizing of water heaters, testing of water installations.
  8. Solar-assisted water heating.
  9. Pipe sizing of water installations and service pipelines.
  10. Gas appliances in terms of combustion air supply and flue gas discharge, gas pipework for buildings.
  11. Gas service lines, gas boiler houses.
  12. Sizing of gas pipework for buildings and gas service lines.
  13. Testing, inspection and commissioning of gas pipework for buildings.

Exercise

Syllabus

  1. Assignment, construction situation, layout adjustment, fixtures assembly.
  2. Floor plans of the drainage system and drawing of the house connection to the construction situation.
  3. Developad cuts of drainage system and longitudinal profile of the house connection.
  4. Sizing of the drainage system inside building and house connection.
  5. Floor plans of the water installation and drawing of the water service pipeline to the construction situation.
  6. Axonometry of the water installation and longitudinal profile of the water service pipeline.
  7. Design and sizing of the water heater.
  8. Solar-powered water heating.
  9. Sizing of the water installation and water service pipeline.
  10. Design of gas appliances and their location.
  11. Floor plans of the gas pipework for building and drawing of the gas service line to the construction situation.
  12. Axonometry of the gas pipework for building, sizing of the gas pipework for building and gas service line.
  13. Final inspection and evaluation of the works, credit.
