Professional Knowledge

The importance of geodesy in construction. Coordinate systems, reference frames, and height systems in the Czech Republic and the EU.
Angular, distance, and height measurements, geodetic calculations. Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS).
Methods of collecting spatial data – geodetic, GNSS, terrestrial and aerial laser scanning, mobile mapping systems.
Construction staking, control measurements, determining shifts and deformations, special surveying tasks.
Real estate cadastre, obtaining information from the Cadastre of Real Estates.
Cartography, national mapping works, geographic information systems (GIS), building information modeling (BIM).

Aims

Basics of Geodesy for Construction. A student will get familiar with the basics of geodesy for construction, the methods used, practical applications, and how to use the knowledge gained.
