Elaboration of the budget of the building construction solved in the frame of the subject Project – building construction. Compilation of the whole costs of the construction and elaboration of total estimate. Exploitation of software for budgeting and evaluation of structural works. Assumption of basic knowledge in the area of budgeting and evaluation of structural works. Elaboration of specific technical and economic groundwork and documentation for realisation of structural construction by ordered building company.

Entry Knowledge

Knowledge of price setting problems and costing in civil engineering. Orientation in coding and classification of construction production. Required are skills of user ability to work with cost estimation data and with software applications for cost estimation and costing in con-struction development.

Aims

To separately make bill of quantities and cost estimate based on student’s own made building documentation. To adopt skills of cost estimation and costing in construction development.

Syllabus

1. Introduction to the project.

2. Building object – bill of quantities according to project documentation.

3. Building object – the cost estimating – using the software and guide prices.

4. Building subcontract – bill of quantities of selected works for a construction company.

5. Building company – the structure, construction – selected works, personnel, assets.

6. Building company – finance, financial statements.

7. Building company – marketing of selected works and wages.

8. Building subcontract – individual calculation of construction work by finance and marketing.

9. Building subcontract – production calculation.

10. Building company – controlling of costs.

11. Completion of the project and presentation of results.
