Held under the auspices of Dean Karel Šuhajda of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology and with the support of the general partner OHLA ŽS, the social event of the year — the Representative Ball — took place in grand style. On the night of March 19, 2026, the fully packed Bobycentrum was transformed into a vibrant piece of Spain.

“The future of our faculty lies in young people — in students, doctoral candidates, and early-career academics. I want to give them room to grow, create, and take responsibility. At the same time, they need the support of experienced colleagues who understand the broader context and ensure continuity. Experience and energy are not opposites — they belong together,” said Karel Šuhajda, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology, in welcoming all guests.

The ball is an ideal setting for informal connections across generations. Here, students meet their lecturers, the Dean, and representatives of partner companies in a much more relaxed atmosphere than in lecture halls, the auditorium, or the office. It is often over a glass of wine that great ideas emerge for future projects, internships, and new career opportunities.

“I would like FAST to be the first choice for prospective students, a reliable partner for companies and institutions, and above all a good place to work and study. A place where people enjoy creating things and where mutual trust prevails,” added Karel Šuhajda.
