A historic event has taken place at the Faculty of Civil Engineering at Brno University of Technology that will have a significant impact on the water management of municipalities and the region. Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering of Brno University of Technology Prof. Rostislav Drochytka and Ing. Jan Ručka, Ph.D. signed a consent to the establishment of the spin-off Voda Brno s.r.o. The company will use an innovative patent developed at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Technical University of Technology - the Astacus robot, which enables controlled cleaning of water mains.
Astacus represents a completely new technology that brings improvements and ecological savings in the management of water supply infrastructure. Thanks to this invention, it will be possible to save water when flushing water supply networks, which will contribute to environmental protection and sustainable use of water resources.
