Abbreviation: NPC-SIK Code: N0732A260026 Type of study: master's programme

Awarded degree: Ing.

Level of qualification: master's (second level)

Awarded qualification: Ing. in the field of "Civil Engineering – Structural and Transport Engineering "

Program description

Master's study programme with Full-Time Mode of Study (continuing) in Czech

Study aims

The structure of the three-semester follow-up master's study program Civil Engineering - Construction and Transport Structures is based on the tradition of long-term study programs at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Brno University of Technology (hereinafter “FAST BUT”). (Czech Republic) and in the European Union (EU).
The content of the study program is designed to meet the requirements of:
- Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education and on the Amendment to Other Acts, as amended (hereinafter referred to as the “Higher Education Act”),
- Government Regulation No. 274/2016 Coll., on Standards for Accreditation in Higher Education,
- Government Regulation No. 275/2016 Coll., on Education in Higher Education
all in accordance with the methodological materials of the Board of the National Accreditation Office for Higher Education and the documents of the Brno University of Technology (hereinafter referred to as “BUT”) and the FCE BUT.
The study program is taught in the Czech language in full-time form of study and is designed for graduates of bachelor's degree programs at universities and non-university technical universities in the Czech Republic and the EU. The content of the course builds primarily on the knowledge of graduates of the four-year bachelor's study program Civil Engineering, specializing in Construction and Transport Structures at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The study program also enables student mobility and part of study at other selected universities with a similar focus.
The study program is aimed at gaining knowledge and knowledge in theoretical and engineering disciplines in the field of design and assessment of building structures and transport structures. The content of the study program are theoretically focused subjects with examples of practical applications. Compulsory courses as a basis of the student's specialization are focused on selected topics from the statics and dynamics of buildings, foundation and transport structures with links to the entire building industry and also to ecology and the environment. Compulsory courses form the basis for compulsory optional courses that extend the student's expertise in the field of concrete, masonry, metal and timber structures and bridges, composite materials and glass structures, road design, railway structures and junctions, as well as in diagnostics and evaluation of structures. The study is completed with subjects of legal and managerial basis.
The graduate will acquire professional knowledge at a high level and in the necessary quality, which will be applied in practice in the design, implementation, reconstruction of load-bearing structures and bridges, as well as road and rail transport structures.
After passing the final state examination, the graduate is entitled to use the title “engineer” (abbreviated to Ing. Before the name).
