Objective

Understanding of principles of the cartographic interpretation and cartographic work as basic layer GIS. Basic skills with geograaphical information systems.

Knowledge

Students will manage basic theoretical knowledge of geoinformatics/geomatics and digital cartography. They will be introduced with positional and altitudinal bases of geographic information systems. They will achieve detailed knowledge about national digital map works, geoinformatic systéme, spatial databases and about data collection methods for these products.

9. Sources of database.
10. Basic analytical and synthetic tasks of GIS.
11. GIS software.
12.-13. GIS applications ArcGIS, Geomedia, web map services.

Prerequisites

Basic knowlegde of information technology. Cartographic terminology.
